Imo City Chorale and Orchestra Owerri wins Gold Medal at the World Choralympic Online competition in Korea

2022 world Choralympic competition ANOTHER GOLD MEDAL FOR NIGERIA!!! We are joyfully stepping into the new month with a great news! The 2022 World Choralympic which was held on 25th July in Pocheon, South Korea came to a successful end. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions in some parts of the world, the 2022 World Choralympic was organized as an International Online Competition, with exception to choirs from South Korea and some parts of Asia who physically participated in the global event in Pocheon. The Grand finale of the International Choir Festival (Category B - Adult Choir) had 15 Choirs representing 15 countries who made it to the final stage. Nigeria, ably represented by the Prestigious Imocitychorale Owerri was the only African Country to make it to the final stage of the Adult Choir Category.  The prestigious IMO city chorale and Orchestra owerri from South East IMO State have been nominated to be the most outstanding Chorale group of the year 2021 according to the Nigerian Classical Music Industry Association, this nomination was made public on the 10th of January 2022 on there Official website and Blog.  According to the director of the Association, IMO city chorale and Orchestra was selected to be the outstanding chorale group last year in South east after they achieved numerous recognitions both in the State level and Federal level. Music opera for covid19 by EKE CHIJINDU FAVOUR HEDGES

We are pleased to celebrate this young Nigerian Composer by name Eke Chijindu Favour Hedges,the young  composer  from Imo State Nigeria may be the first Composer in the world to have composed an Opera for Coronavirus titled Opera for Covid19 (Opera of the march) He composed this classical opera work in line with the recent  coronavirus outbreak which has put the world in a total lock down. The book captured most of the happenings during this period, such as the origin of the virus, the lockdown  and its effect EKE CHIJINDU FAVOUR HEDGES has composed many classical opera's but this seems to be his most popular opera considering the time and the story behind the book.
